WORD AND PRAYER

Why Jesus (the Word) still needed to use the word in overcoming the devil's temptation in the wilderness(Mark 4:1-10) and also the reason James,one of Jesus's core 3 disciples was killed when the church failed to pray,(Acts 12:1-5) brings to bare an important truth.Things don't just happen because you are a Christian,the promises of God and it's associated realities are only delivered to us on the grounds of THE WORD & PRAYER. 

John 16:24
Until now you have asked nothing in my name:Ask,and you will receive,that your joy may be full.
2 Peter 1:3 
As his divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM who has called us to glory and virtue.
